Argumentative Essay_SAT Prompt 3

"Talk of the devil, he will appear," means that what we say becomes true eventually. Just like what this adage says, what we pretend to be usually comes to reality either in a good way or a bad way. Though deception is 'pretending' that something is right though it is not , I believe this can bring a good result because pretending can bring confidence and a strong will.
Deception can bring confidence and a strong will. If we pretend that something has already happened, we tend to act as if that really occurred and work hard to solidify that as a truth in near future. When I was seven years old, I went to an audition conducted by Icheon City Children Choir. It was the biggest choir in the city, and thus the audition was quite competitive. I wanted to be a member of it and be on the stage, although I knew I was not good at singing. From the day I applied to the audition, I pretended that I was already a member of the choir and practiced everyday. That led me to be much confident and obtain the inner power of relying on myself. Thoughtless and reckless as it may be, the act of deceiving myself led me to achieving my goal.

Deception or pretense can actually lead to satisfactory outputs. Though pretending means deceiving something to be true, it can be justified if such pretense is for good purpose.
